Who are you?
I'm a psychology bachelor with a goal of becoming a working Hollywood screenwriter. Right now, I do web design at Sporty's, for which I have no formal training, but I've been working in the field since summer 2005. I learned everything I know on the job. I enjoy what I do, but my heart is set on making movies. Of course, it doesn't do much good to sit around hoping for something, so I've taken some initiative and created this site.
What is this?
In short, this is my portfolio. Everything you see here is designed to showcase my work and gain exposure. It may not look like much right now, but it's a constant work-in-progress, and I'll be adding to it regularly for a long time. If you don't like to read, don't fret; there's plenty of video just for people like you. Which leads us to the most pertinent question...
What am I doing here?
If you're currently active in film, whether a producer, director, or college professor, you're here to view my spec samples to see if I'm any good. If so, you can request full scripts from me via my contact form. If that's the case, I'd love to hear from you no matter what.
If you're a student or looking to get into film, whatever your craft, then you're looking for work and exposure too! In that case, you're here to see what I've written and check with my independent production house NickTek Productions what positions are available. You can also find various media, like short films and web comics that I've created, at NickTek Productions. Then, shoot me a message.
BUT WAIT! If you don't fit into any of those categories, you're not out of luck...
What if I don't care about your scripts?
There's still plenty here for you to do. All of the above options are still open to you, if only for your personal entertainment. Also, you can check out all the stuff going on at my blog and leave comments, watch my video updates, or chat with me and others on the chat box in the upper-left corner of each page. When in doubt, click around; there's lots to do and talk about, and I'm always open to discussing my projects and just movies in general with anyone who's interested.
How do I get involved?
The world needs more people like you. No matter what anyone says, filmmaking is a collaborative art, and it takes a lot of people and strong dedication to make a worthwhile film. One of my main priorities is making short films to submit to competitions around the world, and I can't do it alone. I'm constantly on the lookout for producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, actors, effects artists and of course, financial backers, just to name a few. You can find more information at www.fanoffilm.com/ntp, and please don't hesitate to contact me.
I'd like to get out of the house. Do you have any live events?
Yes, I suppose I do. You can find me in the Cincinnati area on most weekends trying to keep up on the latest films. If you're interested in joining me for a movie and discussion, just let me know. I'd be happy to meet you and shoot the breeze for a bit. If I get enough people in the area involved, we can start doing more creative group events. And of course, if you'd like to meet up and talk business, I'm always available.
